December 24, 2008 Reasons for CheerfulnessTis the Season to be JollyBy STEPHEN MARTIN
Giving a gift is an act sacrificial; enhancement of the self attained in the recognition of ‘other’ seen; way of reflection unique, ‘small’ gifts being more often ‘wrapped’ as priceless in the concern realised relative thereby. So many of us, self included, learning some ‘concomitant idiosyncratic’ of truth caste courtesy of the times in which we live as by accident of birth, under flow of ‘lava’ to ‘financial meltdown’? The times may be changing. but such ‘bedrock’ remains as eternal to humanity; being as that which unashamed to proclaim love for; as capable of aspiration to embrace of Democracy in wield of sword as double edged – as can be scythe to illusion? One truth being as herein contended: that the ‘season’ of jolliness for man is beyond circumscription period of time, that the ‘stoicism’ of goodwill capable of being extended by humanity is eternal, and as such ever transcendent over 'happenstance’, being beyond such grind in nature as ‘sui generis’ – and the wondrous mystery of ‘other’ glorious eternal? Such as ye be? Certain inevitability of the denouement of illusion in hubris – and also of the arising from ashes of ‘Phoenix’? When it is said that ‘things will have to get worse, before they get better’ - there is much truth - as much as in the humility of recognition of ‘force majeure’ in the conception? When it gets down to it; the ‘essentials’ really are not material in nature; and in the plural the illusion be traced; look in eye as mirror and the casting aside of the superficial thereby in the recognition of ‘other’, and the glory of compassion realised -in the gift of love as singular in the ‘existing above’? True dignity is of heart and mind, beyond the illusion of purchase as would reduce to object, such proposition? Should be preferable, of course, that insight be borne of ‘common welfare’ rather than ‘sufferance’, or that wisdom arise from other than such as folly; but there is greater enhancement in the making most of thereby - as in demonstration way of ‘indomitable spirit’? What this small article is trying to communicate is ‘Bah, humbug!’ to mere ‘Season’ concerning being jolly – but also some intimation of a dawning of the glory of transition concerning humanity as victorious eternal. The price of ‘new order’ being born is truly dear – as always when ‘big lie’ to be seen? This is the real glory; that no matter what mere ‘illusion’ propagated way of ‘belief’ there will be unfolding; that there will be a coming unstuck of same - as of the inevitability of ‘force majeure’ triumphant? In such reality; a gift or a curse dependant upon perspective as to the love within or its debasement in the perversity of attraction to object? When such wind is blowing, ‘selling out’ caste inevitable – regardless of ‘factors’ in the calculation of scheme; or mere distraction such as creed, color, race or religion. Illusion ‘conquers’ by way of such division? ‘Force Majeure’ as gift to humanity, and viewed from the downside by such as ‘man with no eyes’ a failure of communication and action accordant? Whereas to those with power to ‘dream’ - glory is eternally attendant and the truth will out – and many the trooping of ‘American Great’ there be, and oft as unsung? ‘Red’; and as ‘Indian’, indeed. What be ‘Christmas time’; without mistletoe and wine as trapping unaffordable, courtesy of ‘credit crunch’ painful illusion? It yet will be of child playing as ever, of smile upon face, of the new dawning of realisation of that which really counts; it be in sharing – that it does not take much to ‘make’ but that is ‘inside’? That when one desires for the wellbeing of other it is albeit as one cannot give right now other than such love – but that there be the care to so take concern; whence such extension of familiarity as in brotherhood, such dissolution of illusion in the realisation; such transition beyond mere affectation the staring into such ‘abyss’ as sufferance bears the seeing of, and as can bring closer to real need as ‘substantive’ within empathy – and real joy in being alive such wealth ‘discovered’? This Christmas, this time, this zeitgeist – is but as ever reflection of the demand for demonstration of humanity as rises above; acts of kindness committed face of adversity; and questioning that propagated as ‘platitude’ of illusion in such sacrifice made, way of ‘gift’? Kindness as ever the demand – even as ‘under’ dark framework of that illusory as to collapse inevitable - to greater joy realised? Economic Depression is nature’s way of revealing lies; it is revolution ‘fait accompli’ to the inevitability of change in world view? When it gets down to it; illusion born of apperception concerning .master, season, and being jolly - such transience risen above in joy for the other, and thoughts being raised from ‘self’ in realisation of love for ‘other’ the real gift? As differentiates ‘man’ from ‘beast’? This Christmas as precursor to end of one epoch – and dawning of new light; new age revealing darkness ‘elected’ as to be lived within caste aside, such be the ‘Eureka!’? Birth not being without pang to body; even when particular glory unique be the result? So above all be Merry; for a better day as is in the dawning to arise, and love be wide spread , as opposite has played hand to full; and no more than such such as fool as sees value within such game as ‘master’ concerning ‘universe’ apperceived? This Christmas real spirit be broken out; as is the indomitable of humanity, as needing not such as bauble and bangle; such being revealed as emptiness of illusion as but part? Roll out the barrel such spirit true; ‘we’ are to break the surface - and not before time! Humanity in the fullness ever beyond scheme, as ‘force majeure’ acknowledging, and new light to shine; paid for alas, way of such sufferance the innocent. The season it be as eternity; the jolliness in the extension immeasurable, and the coming of age wondrous to behold? If such be by way of ‘humbug’ seen then so be it; but herein wished ye a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, regardless – and that from light the darkness seen as would prevail, and in such bushels unique shining – way of ‘Force Majeure’ as gift, from quarters wondrous in the relativity; as per Humanitas? For ‘we’ are to come of age at last, hope and love eternal, such season as to cause real joy in the sharing, as family be found - though never was as lost? Truth be told. This be but part of the glory, illusion seen as within the imposition of ‘season to be jolly’ as illusion, expression of ‘force majeure’ as everlasting gift in the breathing free? Be merry; have future wondrous in the emergence as to be able to look upon darkness courtesy shine of light true; as hidden no more ‘neath bushel. Freedom, equality, brotherhood in the ringing out such bell; form of huddled mass yearning? Such be the freedom and joy to prevail, courtesy of wondrous unfolding, price paid in sufferance of brother and sister as real meaning of ‘dear’ – as rising above illusion as when such sentiment capable of causing offence? So it goes: heedless of the wind and weather. Fa la la la la, la la la la. (In the eighteenth century Mozart used the tune to ‘Deck the Halls’ for a violin and piano duet. J.P. McCaskey is sometimes credited with the lyrics of ‘Deck the Halls’ but he only edited the Franklin Square Song Collection in which the lyrics were first published. The first publication date of ‘Deck the Halls’ is 1881. The author is unknown - but the words are said to originate in America.) Hey, who cares? It’s the thought that counts. Within embrace Democratic of’ ’Counterpunch’ as incorporates diversity and as read here first de –constructed apropos these times: ‘Merry Christmas- and a Happy New Year!’ Stephen Martin can be reached at: stephenmarti@yahoo.com
